This is my 4th year (2015) as the Assistant Principal at Bryan Middle School!

I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2005 with a degree in History Education.  Since then, I have also earned two masters degrees from Concordia University: Curriculum & Instruction (2008) and School Leadership (2013).

I taught 8th grade social studies at Peacock Middle School in Itasca for ten years.  As a teacher, I facilitated differentiated curriculum to a wide range of achievement levels; implemented experiential based programs that simulated key events in American history; and utilized a wide range of available technology designed to enhance student learning and productivity.  As a building leader, I served as a member of the district’s and building’s RtI and PBIS leadership committees; reviewed and updated our Emergency Plans; assisted administration in implementing and piloting Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) in 8th grade; led in-services on technology (Teachers Teaching Teachers); was selected by the U.S. Department of Education to attend a Teach to Lead Summit in Kentucky; and a great deal of involvement within the community of Itasca.

I have learned a great deal from all of my students, colleagues, and principals.  I believe the ultimate goal in education is the overall well-being and success of all our students.

I look forward to a very successful 2018-19 school year.
