7th and 8th Grade Choir Q&A

Thinking of joining choir?  GREAT!  We are all anticipating an awesome year of learning and music-making!

Here's some FAQ's that parents and students often have at the beginning of the school year:

Q:  When does the choir rehearse?

A:  Every morning before school begins, from 7:30-8:15 a.m.

Q:  When is the first day of choir?

A:  The first day of choir will be Monday August 21, 2017. On the first day of school, all students interested in band, orchestra and choir will be invited to a brief meeting at the end of their lunch period where they will receive bus schedules and additional information.

Q:  How do I sign my child up for choir?

A:  SO glad you asked!  Log in to the online registration system from the district webpage. Within the system you will find a way to register for middle school chorus/choir.  Then, you can either pay the fee online, or send a check into the office at school.  If you choose that route, please put the check in an envelope marked with your child's name and  "CHOIR REGISTRATION."

Q:  Who can be in choir?

A:  Anyone who wants to sing!  Come join our choir family!

Q:  My child is in band/orchestra but they also want to sing.  Is this possible?

A:  YES!  If a child decides to enroll in both band and choir or orchestra and choir, they will just attend morning rehearsals for both ensembles on a rotating schedule.  More info to come on Monday.

Any other questions, please feel free to email me!

6th Grade Choir Information

Do you like to sing?

Interested in building your singing skills with an amazing group of friends?

Then join 6th grade Choir!

6th grade Concert Choir (for 2018-2019) is a co-curricular Fine Arts Course which rehearses daily during the school day as an elective period, as well as one morning per week as a combined ensemble with the 7th & 8th grade choir (7:30-8:15 a.m.). Early morning bussing is provided to enrolled students. This year-long standards-based course focuses on vocal production, singing activities, music reading, and of course, live performances!  You’ll not only improve your solo and ensemble singing ability, but you’ll also grow your musicianship and confidence as you work with others to learn how to read and interpret music, setting a solid foundation for a lifetime of making great music.  Choir students will participate in a variety of performances throughout the school year, including a choral festival, a performance tour to the elementary schools, school assembly performances, and evening performances for the school and community.  Sign-up for a great experience that will be both challenging and fun.

How to sign up?  Just indicate your interest when you sign up on the 6th grade course selection form!
