Mini Spirit Week
There will be a Student Council sponsored spirit week during the last week of October. On Friday, October 29th, we will encourage students to wear black and orange. Students are not permitted to wear costumes to school.

Socktober
Student Council will be collecting socks during the whole month of October to celebrate Socktober!  Did you know that socks are the most needed, but least donated item of clothing in homeless shelters?  Students, staff, and parents can drop off new socks in the office that will be donated to families in need.  Everyone can make a difference. Bring in a pair of socks to help others in our community!

Parent Teacher Conference information is coming soon!

Bryan’s Scholastic Book Fair is coming!
Our annual Book Fair will be held in the library from Monday, October 18th to Friday, October 22nd. Students will visit the book fair with their English classes with the option to purchase during those visits. Book Fair hours are 8:30 am-3:30 pm each day. During parent teacher conferences on Thursday, October 21st, the book fair will be open for parents to visit from 4:00-8:00 pm. On Friday, October 22nd, the book fair will be open for parents from 8:00 am-2:30 pm.

Payments accepted include cash, credit card, and Scholastic's eWallet. With eWallet, you determine the amount of money your child is allowed to spend. If the full amount is not spent by the conclusion of the book fair, the remaining balance can either be converted to an eGift card you can use toward future Scholastic purchases or can be donated toward Bryan's Book Fair profits. (eWallet is through Scholastic, not through D205.)

Dressing for the weather in lunch and PE
We will continue to use outdoor spaces for as long as we can. Please encourage your student to dress for the weather so we can continue to be outside everyday in PE and in lunch. Students review the monthly outdoor rotation in FLL every morning. We also make daily morning announcements about what class is outside in addition to a bulletin board listing what classes are scheduled to be outside.

Forward Together Plan
Throughout this pandemic, the health and safety of Elmhurst District 205 students and staff remain our highest priority. Elmhurst School District 205 has developed a comprehensive plan aligned to local, state and federal guidance. The Forward Together Plan for 2021-22 offers some frequently asked questions about the reopening of our schools, the District’s health and safety protocols; sanitation and ventilation mitigations and a Dashboard that presents COVID-19 metrics. As health information and related procedures change, we will continue to review and update the plan, as well as continue to monitor local health and safety metrics. If you have additional questions, please email Forwardtogether@elmhurst205.org.

Health Office Information
Michelle Pinedo is our school nurse and her email is Mpinedo@elmhurst205.org.  If you have vaccination updates for your student, please send them to her. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
