REACH - Fostering Psychosocial Skills Necessary for Achievement, 2/10 at 1pm (via Zoom)

Join the REACH PG and our guest speaker, Rhoda Rosen, from Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development to discuss how can parents help their curious, bright children acquire the skills necessary to develop fully their talent, including setting goals, managing their motivation, embracing challenge, and controlling anxiety? How can they help their advanced students to cultivate social and psychological skills that will support high achievement?  In this session, we present key psychological principles of learning and motivation and how they apply specifically to advanced learners, including resources for fostering motivation and other key psychosocial skills. This meeting is open to ALL D205 parents.

The Elmhurst Commission on Youth Job Fair will be held on March 16, 2022 from 4:30 - 7 p.m. at York High School.
PTA Membership

If you haven’t joined the PTA yet and want access to the Bryan Middle School online directory, it is not too late. Access to the directory is exclusive to PTA members. Just click on this link and select the membership that is right for your family.

At this point, only approximately 46% of our Bryan families have joined the PTA. This number is lower than prior years, and yet we hope to offer the same student focused events and academic support as we have in the past. In order to do that we need your help, so if you haven’t joined yet, please join today! Joining the PTA does not require you to volunteer, although we are always grateful for help!

For any membership-related questions, reach out to Jen Langley at

8th Grade Transition to York Information

On the evening of  November 2, 2021, York hosted RISING FRESHMAN ACADEMIC NIGHT.  If you were unable to attend, we will have information and pre-recorded videos available here.

In registering your students for their 9th grade classes, we use a variety of information from the middle schools. Using historical grades, we will design a schedule that we think will provide an appropriate level of challenge. These course recommendations will be available for you to see in Powerschool on November 3, 2021. You can see the differences between our core Freshman courses here. We also have academic supports available for students that have been identified as needing some extra help during the school day. York counselors will be visiting the three middle schools to begin the registration process during the week of November 8, 2021.
