2021 Treasure Hunt FAQs

What is the Bryan Treasure Hunt?  For the past decade or more, the Bryan Treasure Hunt has been the must-attend spring event!  In the past, teams of up to 6 adults gathered at a local location to receive their Hunt instructions.  They then raced around town solving clues related to the Hunt theme in order to move on to the next location and more clues.  The team who finished the fastest was crowned winner!  Prizes for Best Costume were awarded. We also had a silent auction, split the pot and a few raffles. Food and drinks rounded out the evening.

This year, as with everything else in the past 13 months, the Hunt looks a bit different.  The Hunt is still the spring must-attend event but now you can do it from the comfort of your own home.  Teams will compete virtually and solve clues on the brand new innovative Hunt app.  Prizes will still be awarded for Best Costume.  Local restaurant “To Go” packages will offer food and drinks.

When is the Hunt?  The 2021 Virtual Bryan Treasure Hunt is Saturday, April 17th at 7pm.

Who can play?  Gather a team of up to 6 adults or participate as a couple.  If you are feeling extra clever, do it by yourself! The Hunt is an adult only event but is not limited to only Bryan parents.  Ask your neighbors, team up with your cousin, or see if your dentist wants to be on your team!

How do I sign up?  Your team captain will sign up through MemberHub using THIS LINK.  Don’t forget your team name!  Register by April 13th. 

How much does it cost?  Entries cost $40 per individual OR $200 per team (max of 6 adults 18+).

What is this year’s theme?  "Games People Play” is the theme for 2021

Do I need a costume?  Costumes are always optional, but some people really get into the theme! Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume.

What should I eat that night?  Hunt volunteers are working with local restaurants to provide dinner and drink “To Go” packages for that evening. More details will be available after Spring Break.

How do I get a yard sign?  New this year, the PTA is selling yard signs as a fundraiser. Each team registered will get one yard sign included with their registration and extra yard signs can be purchased HERE for $15. PTA volunteers will deliver the signs (local addresses only), but order soon as we only have a limited quantity available.

How will the details of the event be communicated?  The Team Captain will receive all the details about the event via email and should then share those details with his/her teammates. 

Will there be silent auctions or raffles?  We have chosen not to do any silent auctions or raffles this year. If you would like, you can always make an open donation to the Hunt and the Bryan PTA HERE.

How will the funds raised be spent?  Bryan PTA has an approved budget and supports our students and staff in multiple ways. This spring, we are planning to replenish some PE equipment that is taking a toll due to the hand sanitizer and cleaning products.  We are also looking to add extra items like Coding Robots for Creative Tech and new tools for Industrial Tech to support social distancing requirements in these classes. Last year, the PTA purchased new lights for our auditorium, book club materials for ELA classrooms, new flexible furniture for our library and donated to the Foundation 205 Covid-19 Response Fund. The PTA supports staff appreciation week, 8th grade promotion, and many other programs like grade level socials for all students.

What is the cancellation policy? If your team cancels, we cannot issue refunds -same as prior years. In the event the PTA has to cancel to align with D205 recommendations, the Team Leader can choose to A) donate the registration fee to support PTA or B) have PTA issue a refund (excluding fees).
